Electronic Voice Phenomena

Electronic Voice Phenomena or EVP is a voice of Spirit captured on an electronic recording device such as a dictaphone. Of course this is debatable and the sceptics will insist that it is the frequencies of other electro magnetic equipment interfering with the recording equipment. Although this may be the case at least in some circumstances I am of the belief that EVP is a genuine phenomena and although I have heard many dubious, almost deperate, recordings EVP remains to be one of my most convincing methods of proving the afterlife.

The question asked most often is why can we only hear the voice via the recorder? Well I'm no expert but I would summise that the EVP is on a different frequency to what we can hear much like the sounds that some animals emit such as a bat which is also inaudible to the human ear without special recording equipment. So with that in mind it has got to make you wonder that if there are things we cannot hear without using technology are there also things that we cannot see...."just because you can't see it doesn't mean its not there"

Roses theory on EVP recordings is that only grounded/ Earth Bound Spirit may communicate via this method. Her reasoning for this is that if any Spirit may use EVP to communicate then loved ones would be captured as they would be the ones keen to contact you, however this is rarely, if ever the case. It seems a logical theory.

Information

  • All EVP's were captured by Rose unless otherwise stated.
  • Rose uses an Olympus VN-2100PC with an ME52 microphone and we use Wavepad Sound Editor to cut our selections.
  • All EVP's are unedited and, as far as we are aware, are genuine phenomena.
  • Some of the files are quite large please be patient when waiting for them to download.

Little Girl EVP's

The following EVP's were captured during the investigation into the little Spirit girls that we believe were once present at our house. 

This first example was captured when Rose and Jackie were trying to establish whether there were indeed any young girls present in our house. To this day this is still the best EVP I have heard. This example was captured on Jackies dictaphone as at the time we did not have one, although it wasn't long after that we did get one!


Before any questions were asked Rose and Jackie heard this:




We believe that this EVP says "Don't go away Celia"


Further questioning revealed the following:


We believe that after Rose says "Could you please tell me if your name is Celia Llewellyn?" the voice replies "How?" (@ 14seconds). As though speaking with her Rose says "You could try knocking...perhaps a couple of times...if I'm right, and you're twelve years old" to which the voice replies "Here, here" (@ 25seconds) which can be interpreted to imply that that is correct.


In this EVP we believe that we caught the name of the other little girl:



It is very faint but we believe we can hear the name "Eve"


We also picked up an unexpected EVP when trying to question the girls:



When asked if Celia is present there is clearly the sound of a boy saying "No"

 

EVP's from Work

Of course where Rose works is haunted, she wouldn't have it any other way! With the kind permission of her boss and whilst he was out on business, she didn't want to scare him, she bravely tried to contact Spirit and captured her findings on her dictaphone. The building was completely unoccupied with only Rose present at the time:


The first question she asked is if any Spirit was present and if there was what was their name? The response she got was this:



We're not entirely sure what the reply is. We can clearly make out a voice and think he is saying something along the lines of
"It's Mickey Twain" or perhaps "It's Mickey Train"


Despite being unaware of contacting Spirit, such is the nature of EVP, Rose then continued to ask whether he lived or worked at her place of work, to which the reply came:



We believe the response she got was "I'm trespassing in here"


She also caught this which as far as she knows wasn't in response to a question but was accurate!



We believe that this is the Spirit saying "It's cold today"
Which it was but we wasn't aware that Spirit could feel physical phenomena perhaps it was
more an observation of Rose keeping her jacket on and having a rosy red cheeks from the cold!

Rose also experienced the lights flickering once she had completed her EVP experiment, unfortunately despite her making a comment about the lights it was not captured on the dictaphone.

EVP's from the Circle

With kind permission from the person that runs her mediumship circle Rose was allowed to leave her dictaphone on record whilst they conducted their activities. The following is what was captured:


The Spirit of a man was felt within the circle and the recipient gave a description of what he was wearing to which the Spirit added:



We think this sounds like "And trousers"


When it is commented that if the little girl felt in the circle came close she would "make you cold" we believe that a man (possibly the same man from above) replies:



We believe here he says "No chance"


The circle continues to focus upon the little girl and they get this rather interesting sound:



This sounds like a girl tap dancing to us

Miscellaneous

The following were picked up at home, the dictaphone was just left running and contact with Spirit was not attempted, however this is what we got:




It sounds like the voice is saying "Contact me now"
Unfortunately as we were not aware of the message until it was played back we did not try to contact him.


Now this one is a bit of a mystery. So very clear I thought that it must have been me but after experimenting and trying to mimic the sound we decided that it was unlikely to have been me, although it still can't be ruled out entirely.



As you can hear its clearly a whistle. Why don't we think it was me? Well there's a number of reasons;

I don't recall whistling that morning however, that doesn't mean I didn't as I caught myself unconsciously whistling many times after.

We put the dictaphone in the same location and tried whistling the same tune from the places in the
house that I had been that morning and not once did my whistle sound as clear, I'm just not that good a whistler.

Also I do not recognise the tune, Rose believes that it is the beginning of the theme tune to "HR Puff & Stuff" which is a childrens program from the 70's. Click the YouTube link below to see what you think:
