Ghost Cat indeed! Who would've thought it, well I wouldn't have but there were so many unexplainable incidences that it is hard not to believe that we had the ghost of a cat haunting our home! It is worth noting that at that time we had two cats (Annie & Oscar) living with us, so was familiar with sounds and feelings of having a cat around the house. We had lived in our house for 6 years with no unusual experiences/ paranormal phenomena.
It all started when Rosie returned from a Spiritual Development weekend break. Some of the most notable Ghost Cat experiences are noted below:
- The day after she came back Rosie was lying on the settee reading some literature she had received from her development weekend when she said to me "It's strange but it feels like one of the cats is lying over my waist." Obviously there was nothing there so she dismissed the feeling.
- Whilst sitting at my computer desk I felt a cat brush up against my chair, as they often did, when I reached down to stroke it there was nothing there :)
- A similar incident happened to Rosie whilst she was lying on the floor watching the telly. She felt a cat brush up against her back but again as she turned round to stroke it it wasn't there!
- Rosie was sat at the computer and I was sat on the settee when we both heard a cat scratch the scratch-post (which we had for our cats) I looked up (immediately) to see which of our cats it was but again there was no cat there. I'm quite sure of all my experiences regarding Ghost Cat but this one was the most definite for me, at the time the tv was off and the house was very quiet.
- Rosie was bathing the kids, the bathroom door was open and Rosie saw a shadow go past the door and into our bedroom. Rosie went to investigate to see if she could finally get to see Ghost Cat but alas it was not to be seen.
- I was lying on the floor when I felt the presence of a cat nearby. Again I turned to see which of my cats it was but much to my shock, instead of there being nothing there I thought I saw a ghostly image of a ginger cat scurrying along. It was just a glimpse, you know one of those "I swear I saw a cat then" moments.
- Rosie was cooking the dinner when she heard the muffled repetitive meowing of a cat. Thinking it was one of our cats that had locked itself into one of the kitchen cupboards she went around the kitchen checking all the cupboards. She couldn't find a cat and called out to my daughter to come and help her to find it, but our daughter said that both the cats were with her. With that the meowing stopped.
Rosie spoke to the person that had conducted her development weekend asking him if she could've brought the spirit of a cat back home with her. He said that it is most likely due to her being more spiritually aware, so although the Ghost Cat may have always been here she just couldn't see or hear it. That's all very well, but what about me?
Ghost Cat suddenly stopped visiting, we haven't seen or heard from it for over a year.
RIP Ghost Cat where ever you may be
