I love this story and just have to put it on here:

An old friend
of mine was a born again Christian and we would often have small
discussions regarding his beliefs. He was such a genuine guy and was a
great influence on me at the time. It got to the point where my
curiosity was getting the better of me regarding the possibility of
there being a God. He told me how when he was at an all time low he
asked God for a sign and received one (I won't go into detail, that's
his story) and from that moment on he promised to follow the way of
God.
So I decided to ask God to give me a sign. I was due to
get up early for work the next day to start a 6-2 shift, I simply asked
God to aid me in waking up refreshed and alert ready and raring to go
for work, I'm not much of a morning person so this was asking a lot.
With that I went to sleep. The next morning I woke up over an hour late
for work because my alarm had not gone off!!! So it could be argued
that God had given me what I asked for I did feel much better for my
"lye in". They say that God works in mysterious ways.....
I told
my friend the story and he laughed heartily for quite a time. He asked
me if I believed in God now, well I had to admit that it was quite a
coincidence. He said that I should take that as my sign as often people
will ask for a sign, receive one then dismiss it, but why?
Just how much proof do they/ we need to start believing in something? I never did ask for another sign and although I do not believe in God per se I certainly do believe in higher powers.....
Right or Wrong? Who cares?Something
else I'd like to mention that my friend once said to me whilst having
one of these chats. Obviously we were discussing his religious beliefs
and he said to me "Ya know Tel the thing with the way I am leading my
life for God is that if I've got it right I'm going to Heaven when I
die and I won't regret anything that I have done for God. If I've got
it wrong and I just die and rot in the ground then I would've still had
a good life and still won't regret anything that I have done living for
God. I can't lose."
Religions are so divided but in my humble opinion it is how we live our lives that's important not who is right or who is wrong
