The first we learnt of the young girl being in our house was when we went to Shepherd Neame Brewery in Faversham about 3 years ago. During a coffee break a medium by the name of Alan (mentioned in some of our paranormal investigations), said there was a young girl attached to Rose dressed in Victorian clothing with brown hair and about 14 years old although since then Rose has picked up on two girls.

There have been a couple of incidents which we have accredited to the young girl/s, the first of which was one night in bed. Just as I was nodding off Rose jumped up with a gasp shaking her hand wondering what it was this time she explained that she had felt the fingers of a small hand brush her palm. Quite a distinct feeling but I dismissed it...

I can't recall how much later it was, probably a few weeks I suppose, again we were laying in bed and just as I was nodding off I felt my waist being squeezed like someone was trying to tickle me, this time it was Rose asking me what was up. I told her about my waist being squeezed to which she insisted that it wasn't her that did it, although I was aware that it wasn't. Anyway as much as I know I felt something I was still dismissive when Rose suggested that it must have been the little girl.

One morning my youngest daughter (7 at the time) told us that she had woken up in the night and saw a young girl next to her bed stroking the covers. My daughter described her as having long hair and wearing a white dress. Understandably she was scared by this stranger in her room and stuck her head under the covers, when she eventually poked her head back out from the covers the girl had gone. Was this just the imagination of a young girl in a semi sleeping state? Perhaps she had over heard me and Rose talking of the young girl and her imagination had lead her to believe the event had happened. 

Whilst relaying our lawn last year Rose was on her knees turning the soil over and thought she saw one of my daughters in the garden out of the corner of her eye. She told my daughter not to come out into the garden without her shoes on as at the time it was just all mud and stones. When she looked up to see which daughter it was neither of them were there, although she swore that she distinctly saw a pair of bare feet.

On another occasion Just as we got into bed our dog barked to go out, as he typically does. Rose got up to let him out, after he had does his business he came back in and Rose made her way back up to bed calling our dog to come up with her. A couple of seconds later she heard another voice which she described as a young girl, rather than a little girl and certainly not an adults, repeating "Well? C'mon then!". We live in a very quiet area and it was late at night so it was very unlikely to be anyone outside.

But still nothing I would consider concrete for me to believe that we are sharing our house with the spirit of a young girl, however that was about to change when Rose invited her friend Jackie around to try to capture evidence of the young girl on EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). I was not present but have every confidence that Rose and Jackie are capable of conducting an experiment in a controlled environment.

It was a still fine day, the kids were at school, the tv and radio were off and we live in a quiet culd-e-sac where we hardly ever see the neighbours, none of which have children anyway. They sat at the dining table and started their EVP questioning once they had finished they played back what they had got. Click the play button below to find out what they heard:


Pretty good eh!? I honestly could not believe it when I heard it. I've heard EVP's before and normally its a matter of listening very carefully to a "voice" through white noise however the little girls voice is extremely clear. The voice actually comes before the questioning begins so is not a response to a question. We, and others, believe the voice says "Don't go away Celia" implying that  a) there are two girls and b) Celia did not want to stick around to see what EVP's are all about!

Although not conclusive this is very strong evidence in my opinion. As I said above I have never heard an EVP so clear. I'd be interested to hear anyones opinion on it and Jackie still has the original recording on her dictaphone should professional investigative scientists wish to analyse it. 

Rose now has her own dictaphone...

Rose looked up the name Celia in the local cemetery records to see if there was any mention of a girl from the era that she believed she was from. There were three Celia's; first was sadly a still born baby, second was an adult and the third was a twelve year old girl from 'Hope Street' who had passed away in 1891. Could this be the girl visiting our house? Well there was one way to find out; ask Celia! So Rose got her dictaphone out and asked the question, the answer was rather interesting!

We believe that after Rose says "Could you please tell me if your name is Celia Llewellyn?" the voice replies "How?" (@ 14seconds). As though speaking with her Rose says "You could try knocking...perhaps a couple of times...if I'm right, and you're twelve years old" to which the voice replies "Here, here" (@ 25seconds) which can be interpreted to imply that that is correct.

Upon hearing of the little girls willingness to communicate our friend Jackie was keen to return to try some more communication after the success of her first EVP and Roses successful attempts. Jackie and Rose went up to the bedroom, as thats where the activity seems to be the strongest. This is the recording:


 Jackie asked the question "...or Celia's friend, if you're here could you come and talk to us and tell us your name?" To which there is an extremely faint reply of what we believe to be "Eve" (@ 5seconds) . It is very quiet though so make sure there is silence in your room but you may still have to put your speaker to your ear.

So again Rose looked in the cemetery records, she couldn't find an Eve but did find an Evelyn which can be abbreviated to Eve. Evelyn was 8 when she passed in 1885 and she was also from 'Hope Street'. Is this more than a coincidence?

The EVP's that Rose caught are pretty clear as far as EVP's go, the ones I submitted to this article are original unedited recordings.

A few days after the last EVP of the girls was captured Roses circle helped the girls to pass over to "the light" meaning that they are no longer earth bound. To me this is all theoretical as there is not hard evidence of "the light" or even the afterlife really, although Rose will debate this with me until the cows come home. What we do know is that when we attempted to capture the girls on EVP to confirm that they are no longer here we were unsuccessful, so perhaps that is evidence. The fact is that if we believe that the little girls were trapped here as grounded Spirits and that they have now passed over fully to Nirvana/ Heaven, or what ever you wish to call it then that is a satisfying and rewarding outcome to this series of events.
